Massage Therapy
In the case of injury, either from trauma (e.g. accidents or surgery) or repetitive strain (e.g. poor posture, poor ergonomic design of tools and furniture), a massage therapist can physically stretch muscles, inhibit muscle spasm, increase range of motion of joints and help break down scar tissue.

Physiotherapy

Early access to Physiotherapy is crucial in the prevention of chronic diseases and injuries. Hammonds Plains Physiotherapy believes that it is important to keep you active and independent doing the things you love to do.

Our initial assessment consists of a subjective and objective assessment. The subjective assessment consists of an extensive health history and the objective assessment is the hands-on assessment and observation evaluation that will assess your level of mobility, strength, range of motion, balance, sensation and overall physical function. Based on the assessment findings, we will educate you on a diagnosis of your condition/injury and together we will develop an individualized active treatment plan. The Physiotherapist will measure your progress regularly and adjust your treatments according to your needs.

Physiotherapists are primary care professionals, which means that you can go directly to a Physiotherapist without a Physician's referral. Most extended health care plans cover some or all Physiotherapy services. It is best to check with your insurance provider to determine if a Physician's referral is required to claim reimbursement.
